Ready Made Resources
Ready Made Resources is one of those clients you really enjoy working with. Owner Bob Griswald knew he needed a new look for his store and a new design but was having a hard time finding a designer to work with.
A contact was made and I began with some ideas for the new site. Bob had taken a look at some of my previous work and felt confident this project would be in good hands.
Like most of my custom sites, I created the layout first in Photoshop and had the owner look it over and make any changes he absolutely had to have. After just a few changes, the new look and design was coded and ready to go. We also decided on a new logo for the site. I think it came out very well.
The next step of the process was the huge store that needed to be put online.
Shopping cart systems can be a big headache if you don't know what you are doing. After using a number of different carts on the market over the last few years, I have settled on using CubeCart.com for my clients. It's very easy to train clients on how to operate it and usually very easy to set up.
In all cases as well as this one, the setting up of the payment gateway and was the hardest part. Sometimes it can go very quickly and sometimes it can take a lot longer. We finally got all of the usernames and passwords set up and activated the account and the store was underway and orders started to come in.
A great thing about this client was that he understood that you can't just create a store and expect to sell your products. You need to advertise and extensively. RMR did that and its paying off.
